Build your mechanical watch

Choose this class and go home with a watch fitted with a manual-wind ETA 6497 movement. After an introduction to the functioning of a mechanical watch, take your place at the workbench where you disassemble then reassemble part of the movement, guided by Initium's master watchmaker. Then you're invited to choose among Initium's assortment of top-quality components to determine the individual style of your watch. You then assemble your chosen components, fit the dial and hands, case the movement and carry out the final inspection. At the end of the class, you leave with a watch that is not just Swiss-made, but made by you!

Technical data

This manual-wind calibre was first developed in the 1950s by the Swiss maker Unitas, and is appreciated for its reliability. Watchmakers refer to it as a "workhorse", because of its ruggedness and solidity.

Gastronomic lunch

After a morning spent learning the basics of watchmaking, it'll be time for a break with the other participants and the master watchmaker.

In Le Noirmont, you'll enjoy a gastronomic meal made with local produce at Georges Wenger. The restaurant has been awarded two Michelin stars and scored 18/20 by Gault & Millau. In Geneva, lunch is at Brasserie Lipp, famed for its seafood. In Gebertingen, you'll enjoy lunch and the welcoming atmosphere of one of the town's restaurants.
